Fava beans are another staple for many tables these days. They’re very popular in countries around the Mediterranean and in some Middle Eastern countries. These versatile beans can be used in a variety of recipes and cooked in different ways, including braising, marinating and even sautéed. They’re used in everything from stews to even salads. Fava beans are rich in fiber, protein, iron, potassium, magnesium, B vitamins and more.

Can my dog eat fava beans? No, fava beans are not recommended for dogs. These beans contain a substance called PHA (phytohemagglutinin), which can be toxic in dogs. Your pet may develop abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, and other digestive problems. Can my puppy eat fava beans? No; if your dog or puppy eating fava beans, then be sure to watch for signs of digestive issues. If diarrhea and vomiting are excessive, then get your fur baby to the vet as soon as possible to avoid dehydration and other health issues.

Eggplant can really cause an allergic reaction in some dogs. You just have to stop feeding them eggplants if they show any allergic reactions or even difficulty in breathing. If it’s possible, try to stick to a healthier option for your dog than eggplant so you don’t have to worry or guess if they will react or not.

I must say that this site has been really helpful for me when it comes to making the right food choices for my dog. I never used to care what goes into my dog’s plate and luckily for me he has never reacted to anything I feed him. But now, I realize that there’s a lot to put into consideration when picking food for dogs.

I don’t even like this myself and can’t imagine feeding it to my dog. Doesn’t taste good and the few salads I found it in, I couldn’t eat it. How do people even enjoy that!

My own pet ate some of this yesterday and today I have noticed that he has developed abdominal pain and is vomiting. He seems fine apart from that but I’m not sure if it’s a cause for alarm.

Well, your dog may look fine but doesn’t feel fine. You may need to observe him for a while and if the vomiting is too much, I will recommend you get him to the vet as soon as possible so he doesn’t develop any health issues

You can’t believe I almost added some fava beans to my dog’s meal a while back. I cannot handle it if my dog becomes sick, I’ll have to be intentional about the kinds of food I give to him
