Hamburg rooted parsley is a type of root vegetable related to carrots, celery, parsley and celeriac. This veggie has been used for centuries in Central European cooking and is often used in everything from salads to soups and can even be used as a side dish on its own. Hamburg rooted parsley is a good source of fiber and Vitamin C.

Can my dog eat Hamburg rooted parsley? Yes, he can enjoy it right along with you! But he should only enjoy them occasionally and in small amounts, in order to avoid digestive issues and tummy troubles. Can my puppy eat Hamburg rooted parsley? Yes, your puppy can also enjoy this tasty root, but only in small amounts and as occasional treats. Serving suggestions for dogs and puppy eating Hamburg parsley include raw—chopped or grated—and mixed with his regular dog food. Or you can cook and mash them, then add it to his dog food. Please be aware that Hamburg rooted parsley is generally safe, but does contain furanocoumarins, which can be toxic to dogs. These compounds can cause a dog to develop photosensitivity issues, possibly even leading to skin issues and blindness. So, it’s best to only serve your pup Hamburg parsley root in very small amounts and only as an occasional treat to avoid these health issues.

My dog stares at me funnily whenever he sees me having some Hamburg rooted in parsley. I never give him though because, of course, I was afraid it won’t be safe for him. Now that I know, I’ll be sure to share it with him next time.

Exactly. The Hamburg rooted parsley is really a good source of fibre and Vitamin C. And great for dogs of any age especially the growing ones who need the extra dose of nutrients.

Nah. I’m not sure my dog will like to eat this Hamburg rooted parsley.
It’s really a struggle for us to introduce new things to him and I’m definitely not up for another round of running around the house trying to get him to have a bite. I think we will pass.

Lol. This is totally how my dog behaves. We get him a new type of food and we spend days trying to get him to try it out. But he enjoys the Hamburg stuff along with us and that’s because we were able to get him to start eating at an early age.
