Habanero chilis are one of the hottest peppers available. They’re not usually eaten raw—you’ll find them most often made into hot sauce, salsas and more.
Can my dog eat habanero chilis? No, these are not recommended for your fur baby. Habanero chilis contain high levels of capsicum, which gives the peppers their hot, spicy flavor. Capsicum isn’t toxic to dogs, but it can cause serious burns/irritation to his mouth, throat and digestive system. Can my puppy eat habanero chilis? No, puppies should not eat these chili peppers. My puppy ate some habanero chili, what should I do? If your puppy has eaten these chilis, then be sure to take him to the vet right away. He could experience burning of his mouth and throat, vomiting, and diarrhea. After the chilis are digested, he may even experience pain when defecating.

Some humans can’t even tolerate tabasco peppers, not to talk of animals. Pepper could be dangerous because of its spicy nature and could cause damage to dogs and puppies.
OMG! They cause serious burns or irritation to their mouth? Hmm. That’s a bit much. I’m not sure how my dog ate habanero chilis, but my vet said the cause of his mouth irritation might be from it. I was not agreeing though, but now I am.
Yeah, it can cause that and more including throat and digestive system. It’s a good thing it can be treated immediately the dog reaches a vet. There’s always something to calm the burns and soothe the dog.
Hmmm. Hottest peppers available? No way am I feeding my dog that. Even I can’t eat it comfortably as it’s too spicy so that’s definitely a no for my dog. Thanks anyway for putting this out Kim, I bet many people do not know this.
