Can my dog eat Corn?
Corn, also called maize, is a cereal grain many of us are very familiar with. Do you enjoy corn on the cob? Then you know all about corn! It’s a healthy vegetable that offers lots of fiber, B Vitamins, and more.
Can my dog eat corn? Yes, but only in moderation. Corn isn’t toxic to dogs, but it’s hard to digest (for both dogs and their humans). Your dog could experience some digestive issues if he eats too much corn very often. Keep in mind that your dog should never be allowed to chew the whole corn cob. The cob is not digestible, and if eaten, could cause your dog to develop a bowel obstruction. This is a very serious condition that can only be treated by a vet. Can my puppy eat corn? Yes, but again only in moderation—served occasionally only in small amounts. If your puppy ate a little corn, it should be OK.

The cob is really not digestible. Try to remove it entirely if you are trying to feed corn to your dog. The last time my dog ate that, it caused him a bowel obstruction which took us 4 days and numerous visits to the vet to help him. Better to be there to supervise the eating whenever you want him to eat corn.
Sorry to hear that. My own dog only experienced some digestive issues because he just like eating too much corn. The experience was not nice and I can’t even imagine what it will be like if it was the cob he swallowed. Really sorry about that.
I feed my dogs corn but only in moderation as I also eat only in moderation because it’s quite hard for me to digest myself let alone my dog. They enjoy it a lot, but I wouldn’t make it too much or too often for the sake of their health.
I had to desist from trying to give my dog corn because he always attempts to eat it with the cob. I’d detach all the grains from the cob when next I try to give him. Your post has been a blessing to me in that line.
