Can My Dog Be Lactose Intolerant?

Dinosaur kale, also called lacinato kale, is a type of kale, but looks different from “regular” kale. Dinosaur kale has textured, thick leaves that are a greenish blue color and are a bit wrinkled. These leaves even retain their shape and texture after cooking. This low-calorie veggie is packed with fiber, vitamins A & C, calcium and iron. It can be eaten raw or cooked.

Can my dog eat dinosaur kale? Yes and no. Kale isn’t bad for dogs, but they can only eat a small amount of this veggie once in a while. This is because kale contains certain substances that can cause health problems for dogs. For instance, kale contains calcium oxalate, which can cause kidney or bladder stones. This veggie also contains isothiocyanates, which can cause digestive issues, that can sometimes be severe in dogs. My puppy ate some kale! If your puppy eating kale, be sure to watch for any stomach or digestive issues. If he develops a severe problem, then be sure to call the vet right away. If you feed kale to your dog, be sure to cook it first. This will make it more digestible. And remember to only let him have dinosaur kale as a treat once in a while, not on a regular basis.
