Can my dog eat Rapini?
Rapini, also known as broccoli rabe, looks like a combination of turnip leaves with broccoli buds. It’s a member of the Brassicaceae family and is related to cabbage, mustard and turnips. This veggie is popular in Italian cuisine and is also used in some Asian dishes. It’s packed with nutrients including calcium, magnesium, vitamins A, B, C & K and more. Broccoli rabe is known for its ability to fight cancer, help with keeping bones strong, detoxing the liver, works to keep the heart healthy and more.
Can my dog eat rapini? Yes! Can my puppy eat rapini? Yes, again! Broccoli rabe is another healthy veggie option for your pup. It’s best to first cook or steam rapini before serving it to your dog. This breaks down the fibers in the plant, making it easier for your fur baby to digest. You can add a small serving to his regular dog food, but only once in a while. What if my dog ate too much rapini? There’s a possibility he could develop tummy issues and even diarrhea. So, it’s best to serve rapini as an occasional addition to your canine companion’s meals, and only in small amounts.

Thanks for this very helpful article. I’m ticking off healthy vegetables for my dogs and how to prepare them. And I must say this has come really handy!
Never heard of this one before! But if it’s good and healthy for my dog, then that’s fine. I’ll be on the lookout for it when next I visit the grocery store. I’m more of the natural food type of person as I’m scared of what manufacturers put in the food they throw into the public.
Well that makes the two of us. In fact my dog’s stomach doesn’t take anything that is not natural. Anytime I try feeding him commercial foods, we will have a case of diarrhea in our hands for the next 2 days. Plus natural things are healthier for them.
Broccoli rabe is my all-time favorite! I’ve not tried feeding it to my dog, but I’m willing to give it a try. Hopefully, I don’t overcook it as I do to most of their meals. Well, I guess it’s better overcooked than undercooked. I just hope there’s no effect if it’s that way.
