Oh. This is just what I needed to hear. My son has a new dog and we love to eat Basil in our meal so he has been wondering if we can give the dog some. Thanks for the clarification.

It’s very healthy for dogs. As shown here, it is part of the mint family with lots of health benefits. It has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, which is beneficial for your dog. Not to mention that it tastes great and can be used to serve different delicacies.

I was skeptical about adding basil to my puppy’s meals or even feeding him some of my own food that has basil in it, because of the minty nature I wasn’t sure how it would affect his system. This is such a relief to know.

The basil has lots of beneficial properties that any animal or human can greatly benefit from. I feed it to my dog quite often and also mix it up with other homemade dishes for him. I must say he’s one healthy dog I am proud of.

I personally love eating Basil and also adding it in dishes as it gives an extra flavor and health benefits. Didn’t know that my puppy could eat basil too. Have always been considering giving her.

This sounds interesting. I never allow my dogs to eat basil and didn’t think to ask a vet because I never thought it safe.

I didn’t know this before now. If I knew dogs can safely eat basil, it would have been a good part of my dog’s diet. I still feed her other healthy choices but this would have been a better choice because one of my dogs suffers inflammation.
