You may notice these symptoms if your dog has eaten Adipex:
- Seizures
- Tremors
- Panting
- Agitation and hyperactivity
- Unusual aggression
- Vomiting
- Hypertension
- Excessive drooling
- Diarrhea
- Sedation
- Abnormal heart rhythm
- Pale or reddened mucus membranes or skin
- Dilated pupils

Treatment of Adipex Ingestion in Dogs
The goal of treatment is to stabilize your dog’s central nervous system and minimize the damage to his heart. The vet will also decontaminate their digestive tract. It’s possible that a dog may die if their central nervous system and heart are drastically affected.
The vet may need to treat your dog with anticonvulsants, medication to maintain heart rate and rhythm, and IV fluids. The vet will also treat other symptoms as they arise. They will also monitor your dog’s heart rate, body temperature, and blood pressure.
For dogs that have recently eaten the medication, the vet may try to induce vomiting and use activated charcoal. However, inducing vomiting is not used in dogs that have lost consciousness. They could aspirate the vomit and develop lung infections and other issues.
In some cases, your fur baby may need to be hospitalized until he’s in stable condition.
The prognosis is best for dogs who receive prompt medical treatment after ingesting Adipex. In the future, it’s best to keep this and all other medications out of your dog’s reach. You’ll both be happier for it!
