Nori is a type of seaweed that Japanese use for sushi rolls and snacks, and it’s very healthy. This seaweed is low-calorie and low-fat, so great for anyone on a weight loss plan. It’s packed with nutrients including iodine, Vitamins A & C, magnesium and more. You can find nori as dried sheets in most local grocery stores these days.

Can my dog eat nori? Yes, but with some cautions. Can my puppy eat nori? Yes, but also with some cautions. Your fur baby can definitely eat nori, but only nori that’s been commercially prepared. Never let your pup eat seaweed on the beach or seaweed that’s been dried in the sun. This type of seaweed shrinks when dried, and when eaten, can expand in your dog’s stomach and digestive track causing an intestinal blockage. This is a very serious medical problem. However, nori that’s available at the store should be safe for your dog. Only feed him a few flakes scattered over his food once in a while—not every day or on a regular basis. What could happen if my dog ate too much nori? He would probably develop digestive problems and/or diarrhea.
