Sheepadoodle is a mixed dog breed because of the cross between the Poodle dog breed and the Old English Sheepdog breed.

There are many other names that this dog breed is known for. Some of them are Sheepdogpoo, Sheep-a-poo and Sheepdoodle.

Dog lovers cannot resist adopting Sheepadoodle because it has most of the characteristics that every dog lover wants. Some of these characteristics are playfulness, serious good looks, an outstanding personality and all-around loving traits.

If you want to adopt a Sheepadoodle, you want to look for reputable dog rescue organizations or groups that do not only specialize in Sheepadoodle rescue but also provide the care and attention that the pups need until they are matched to their adopters.

Here are some of the popular Sheepadoodle rescue organizations you want to contact.

1.    Once Upon a Doodle

Once Upon a Doodle is a dog rescue organization that raises and rescues both mini and macro Sheepadoodles. The organization wants to offer as much help and attention as it can to help Sheepadoodles live a better life.

This dog rescue organization was founded in 2013 by a Colorado-born and raised puppy lover who wants to take care of puppies. The passion for starting the organization was because she loves to play and cuddle with puppies.

Today, Once Upon a Doodle has raised, rescued and adopted out several Sheepadoodles. As of February 15, 2021, the organization has rescued about six mini Sheepadoodles and is looking to rescue more in the coming months.

If you wish to adopt a Sheepadoodle from Once Upon a Doodle, you will be required to first fill out and submit the adoption application. You should get a reply from the organization within 48 hours, but if you don’t, feel free to send them a follow-up email.

If your Sheepadoodle adoption application was reviewed and accepted, you would be contacted to make a non-refundable Reservation Fee of $400. This is used to solidify your interest in adopting the Sheepadoodle and qualifies you to be added to the waiting list of adopters.

2.    Poodle Rescue of Houston

Poodle Rescue of Houston is a dog rescue organization that primarily rescues, rehabilitates, and finds better homes for distressed dogs.

The organization covers Houston, Texas and all the other surrounding States where distressed, abandoned, hurt, sick and abused doodles are commonly found.

The organization has been at this for 20 years. The organization has helped in the rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption of Poodles, honorary Poodles, and Poodle mixes, such as Sheepadoodles.

Aside from rescuing distressed and abandoned Poodles and Poodle mixes, this organization also finds temporal homes in the form of quarantine buildings where the rescued dogs are kept for the meantime to secluded them from the larger rescue population.

You may want to contact the organization via the links below so you can start your Sheepadoodle adoption process:

Telephone Number: 713-504-1224

Address: 13302 Schroeder Rd., Houston, Texas 77070

3.    Oodles of Doodles

Oodles of Doodles is primarily a volunteer-based dog rescue organization. That means that the organization doesn’t have a central facility or a quarantine building where rescued dogs are secluded and treated. Instead, they work with several foster homes that take in the rescued dogs pending when the organization (Oodles of Doodles) treats, rehabilitates and finds better and forever loving homes for the rescued doodles.

This New Jersey dog rescue organization goes about the dog rescue process in a different way. It believes that responsible dog ownership is one of the best ways to reduce the growing population of distressed and abandoned doodles in New Jersey. That is why the volunteers take the time to educate the public about responsible dog ownership to advance the need to take good care of doodles.

4.    Doodle Rock Rescue

Doodle Rock Rescue is another dog rescue organization that rescues and rehabilitates abandoned, sick, hurt and distressed doodles in Texas. The organization also extends the dog rescue services to the other States that surround Texas.

The organization was founded in 2017. Between then and 2021, they have rescued over a thousand doodles while matching hundreds of the rescued dogs to loving adopters who are too willing to give the pups a loving home where they can spend the rest of their lives.

Doodle Rock Rescue has many volunteers that are always ready and happy to go into the kill shelters and streets to rescue doodles at the risk of being euthanized, as well as doodles that are in critical conditions.

However, you must be an adopter that lives within 350 miles radius of Dallas or Forth Worth before your adoption application can be considered. That is because the organization doesn’t allow adoptions of rescued and rehabilitated doodles beyond that radius.

Also, the organization reserves the right to take back the doodles they allowed you to adopt. This is common because of the 2-week trial period put in place for the organization to monitor the relationship between the adopters and the pups. If you don’t relate well with the doodles within that time, the organization takes that to be a sign that you and the doodle aren’t a perfect match. So, the doodles will be taken back to the Doodle Rock Rescue Foster program for another matching adopter to adopt the doodle.

Conclusion

Sheepadoodles are wonderful pups for adopters who are ready to spend a lot of time tending to the needs of the pups. You will also like that the doodles are non-shedding and hypoallergenic, which means that the dog wouldn’t be exposed to pet allergies.

While there aren’t many rescue organizations that specialize mostly in Sheepadoodle rescues, you rest assured that the organizations we just discussed will have one or more Sheepadoodles up for adoption because they rescue and rehabilitate those pups.
