Boston Terrier Colors Recognized by the AKC
The AKC (American Kennel Club) is the organization that sets the breed standards for each dog breed they recognize. In the case of Boston Terriers, the AKC stipulates that these dogs must have white markings around the muzzle, between their eyes, and on their chests.
However, Boston Terriers may also have white markings on the collar, forelegs, head, and hind legs. These markings don’t necessarily disqualify a dog from being recognized by the AKC.
Boston Terriers that have other colors are not recognized by the AKC. Even so, Boston Terriers come in a wide range of colors and combinations. What’s more, these dogs have the same traits as the traditional black and white Boston Terriers.
